He should take Cuomo out and end the suspense.

You mean like out to dinner and a movie?

Oh! The mental image I have now. Carl and Andrew, together at last. What an uncute couple!

Ma! Ma! Where's my Pa?

He's not getting to Albany, ha, ha, ha.

Why did this idiot run when he knew he had an out of wedlock child?

Correction. Why did he run as a Republican?

Oh! Titus needs to stop by and make the wisecrack that I just set up. I'm too decorous to say it.

traditionalguy said...

Was that prowess or prowlerest that is legendary. A prowler searches for prey and plunder, which would make Cuomo into a legendary Democrat Politician.

AST said...

This is a case of dumb and dumber.

I don't really care about politics in NY. It's a lost cause.

As for the famous - or infamous - scuffle was not the journalist - actually a senior editor - equally as belligerent and obnoxious as Paladino?

ricpic said...

Well, Paladino is right about one thing, New York State is in "a death spiral." But Carl's got rough edges, Carl's not perfect, so let the death spiral accelerate under Andrew, schooled from birth by Mario to be our next Machiavellian Prince.

Meade (wistfully): "Siiiiiiigh."

This is why dudes look at porn.

Let your hair down, Ann.

Talk dirty to us.

And there I went to the link thinking this was another Andrew Sullivan post.

Ann Althouse said...

I thought I said enough to make it pretty easy to figure out the joke I left unsaid. Meade got it right away.

Unfortunately NY state loses either way. Cuomo is as bad as his dad was - and his dad was a terrible governor. Andy will be even worse and he has more baggage than any of the other candidates. There are no good candidates for governor running this year.

Sounds as if Andrew is at least more decisive than Dad.

The only mental image I have is from "The Godfather".

Or is it "The Untouchables"? (Depends on choice of weapon)

Yes it is so far yet some of us continue the fight...

and fight.

New Yorkers are fortunate indeed to be able to select their leaders from among such candidates as these.

The Best and the Brightest!

Peter Hoh said...

Althouse, are you thinking of something that involves hand-to-hand combat?

If you actually care about NY, this is so sad. Paladino broke out of the primary by speaking bluntly about the issues. Then, when he won the primary and, in this oddest of years, had a real chance to win in NY, he lost his mind. He stopped talking about the issues and got sidetracked into Cuomo's sex life. WTF?

Peter Hoh said...

rdkraus, it must be this "bottom up" thing that the Tea Party is all about.

After winning the primary, Paladino is bringing the bottom up.

It's never good when you have 2 wops running against each other. But, it's maybe not as bad as wop v jew. I'm old enough to remember the campaign sticker, "Vote for Cuomo, not the homo." Now, that's chin music hardball!

traditionalguy said...

If only the high testosterone Pols would stop at the sin of masturbation like O'Donnell wants, then maybe that would end political mud and end the National Enquirer at the same time. Oh never mind. Elect Tiger Woods!

Andrew is feeling very uncertain.

And Carl is pissed because the main stream media is making an issue of his "love child."

Look his wife made peace with it. The young girl is part of his family. I thought we were supposed to leave children out of it?

Oh right. Not the children of Republicans.

Trooper York said...

In the wine and cheese place I go, one of the owners is a half a gangster. He is married with two sons and lives on Staten Island. Both of those kids are cops.

He also has been having an affair for the best twenty five years with another woman. He has a son with her as well. Also a cop. He got married this year and they all went to the wedding.

Life is complicated.

Trooper York said...

Now the judgemental cocksuckers in the main stream media will never cut that person a break.

Richard Dolan said...

Watching his ad, I kept thinking of O'Donnell's "I'm you" ads. Both of them have been turned into caricatures. Her ads try to soften her image and attack the caricature; his mostly play up the rough and unpolished aspect of his make-up from which the caricature was drawn. Trying to break out of that box is difficult and probably impossible at this stage. But zinging Cuomo ended up stepping on the message he wanted to convey.

Trooper York said...

If the douche bags in the main stream media want to investigatge something instead of children, why don't they investigate Randy Andy's grandfather. His mothers father was mobbed up and was the reason why Saint Mario couldn't run for president. Why you thought he didn't have the ego to think he could be president?

There are more fuckin skeletons in the Cuomo closet that in Ed Geins house for crying out loud.

But the scum bags at the New York Times and the rest of the legacy media would never ever look at that.

Trooper York said...

Andy's grandfather was beaten half to death because he didn't pay off the Luchesse people he was in bed with.

Why don't we look at that.

Trooper York said...

When St Mario ran against Koch, Andy was the guy responsible for
the "Vote for Cuomo Not the Homo" signs that were all over the outer boroughs.

Of course they won't look at that will they?

Trooper;
In the wine and cheese place I go, one of the owners is a half a gangster.

So many concepts I'm trying to understand:

1) You in a wine and cheese place

2) Someone who is half a gangster. Is it genetic?

3) Your feelings about journalism (OK that one's not so hard to figure out.)

If I lived in Delaware, I'd probably vote for O'Donnell. I live in NY, and I will not vote for Paladino. He's a bridge too far. I saw his confrontation with Dicker of the NY Post. He didn't look tough. He looked thuggish. If he cannot find ways to mend fences with the NY Post, his enemies' list is going to be too long and too idiosyncratic to allow him to be of much use.....In today's Post, I read an article about Helvisi. Helvisi was the Comptroller. He received about one million dollars for steering a portion of the pension fund to the right financial management firm. He confessed to his crime. He will be allowed to keep his $160,000 in state pensions, and there is a good chance he will avoid any jail time. Cuomo was in charge of the prosecution.....I have mixed feelings about this. Cuomo seems more like a clone of the Democratic machine than a child of it. He doesn't seem the kind of man to clean up Albany. Paladino doesn't seem to be even capable of doing it. I'm going with Cuomo: Manageable dysfunction as opposed to shitstorm dysfunction.

Trooper York said...

William you are making a mistake.

To break the logjam of the vested interests in New York...well it is going to take a dick.

And Carl is that dick.

Trooper York said...

See Christie in New Jersey.

William said...

I like Chrystie, and I particularly like the way he handles hecklers. He seems tough but in control of his anger. Paladino doesn't seem to have that gift. He's too over the top. Some guys are John Wayne, and some guys are Joe Pesci.... Cuomo deserves to be flagged for a great many failures and mistakes. It is surpassingly dumb to criticize him for being a philanderer.....If Paladino's instincts lead him to think that that is Cuomo's greatest failing, his diagnostic skills are remiss. Next week he will probably dump on Sheldon Silver for renting pornographic movies.

Trooper York said...

But Sheldon is a well know perv.

Check his video rentals down there on the Lower East Side. Last week he rented "Hannah Does Her Sisters" and "Papa Can You Touch Me."
