Did you know that the role of the Terminator was originally offered to O.J. Simpson?

And Cher rejected Thelma in "Thelma and Louise"?

Talk about typecasting.

He was also offered the role of The Terminated ... but his lawyer got him off. Too bad, that.

The comment is always....you know, so-n-so turned down the part of _________

None of this can be verified, so it's just someone with too much time on their hands making shit up.

Although, I have heard that OJ did nail the screen test!!

Schwarzenegger would've made a great Nordberg.

Would a Simpson-led Terminator or Cher-led Thelma & Louise have been any good? The world may never know.

Oh well.

"One of the producers said in a 2001 documentary that Cameron hadn't thought that Simpson would be believable as a killer."

I wonder if that is really true.

Well, I have another one here.

Virtually all in the GOP will reject the role of being the opponent of Obama/Biden in 2012.

Here are some reasons:

- Total elimination of OBL - credit to Obama, not to Bush.

- Health care - credit to Obama/Biden.

- Open government - credit to Obama/Biden.

- Millions of followers in social media - credit to Obama 08. The Obama 12 will even be bigger.

The GOP is finished. There is no hope. This is why people are declining the role to run against the President.

This is better than Hollywood.

That's right! I read about it in a Hollywood magazine years ago. When he turned it down, they had to change the script. The original line was, "We'll always have Des Moines."

Rosalind Russell was like the 8th pick for the lead in His Girl Friday.

Speaking of GOP hopefuls: I can't decide who's winning their debate. If I had to guess I'd say T-Paw. He looks like a high school mater debater.

And, if you consider that this is the contest for Romney's VP, I'd still say that T-Paw is winning. When he was given a softball about Romney-care, he said he couldn't go down that road because Romney wasn't there to defend his record. Suck-up score: eleven!

Sprezzatura said...

Not only is T-Paw a mater debater, but he also keeps talking about meat packing.

Romney-Pawlenty. It's inevitable.

Oh no!! He was proudly for cap-and-trade. Too many flip floppers.

Romney-Palin. It's inevitable.

I bet Thelma was glad to be rejected by Cher.

I can understand why Kelly McGillis didn't want to do "Basic Instinct", but I think they're off about Archibald Leach being offered Double Aught Whatshisface. His suavity was what they wanted, but the role was offered to people like Rod Taylor (who probably would have been pretty good) and Patrick McGoohan (who, as a good Catholic, couldn't go for the sexual promsicuity) who were about 20 years younger then Grant.

One they should have had (but wouldn't because no one under 40 would know) is Charles Bickford being offered the part of Ben Cartwright, partly because of his success in "The Big Country" and partly because he was about the same age Pa was supposed to be.

Thanks to ridiculously biased MSM.

- Health care - credit to Obama/Biden.

Credit for what? Polls consistently show Americans hate Obamacare.

- Open government - credit to Obama/Biden.

LOL - examples please? Where are the Bin Laden photos?

- Millions of followers in social media - credit to Obama 08. The Obama 12 will even be bigger.

No correlation of FB followers to actual votes. Remember old people vote in larger numbers despite not being on social media.

The GOP is finished. There is no hope. This is why people are declining the role to run against the President.

This despite the GOP winning virtually every election that matters from 09 to present. Keep up the clown act.

I guess that albino rapist doesn't count.

I like that Pawlenty, as a kid, worked in a supermarket and was in a union. Did Obama ever have a job before he got out of college or during his summer breaks ?

Alex said...

I mean of all things to try and credit to Obama, "open government" has to be the biggest hoot. This is the guy who rarely gives interviews to anyone not totally fawning. Going on Oprah and "The View" demonstrates it. The guy just soaks in the worship.

Schwarzenegger had terrific comic timing.

Simpson not so much.

But Simpson had very high self-esteem.

Still does.

So everything turned out fine.

Frank Luntz's gang says that Cain won.

He's a breath of fresh air.

Too bad T-Paw. And, Palin.

Romney-Cain.

MadisonMan said...

If I had to guess I'd say T-Paw.

Not electable. Not after she made Spock kill Kirk.

Even if it was a fake death engineered by Bones.

"And Reagan was to star in Casablanca."

No, actually. That's a Hollywood legend that's been floating around for years, at least since Reagan's political career turned right. It was meant as a slam at Tinseltown moguls - "can you imagine a doofus like little Ronnie Reagan as Rick? Ha!"

It was George Raft who was offered the role of Rick (as he'd been offered the lead in "The Maltese Falcon"), but he told his agent he was sick of being offered "Humphrey Bogart roles" (remember, at the time, Bogie was usually cast as a heavy) and turned it down, basically deep-sixing his career.
