Have the big papier maché puppets arrived?

Yes.

And the Guy Fawkeses.

Over/under on how many of the morons in Guy Fawkes' masks actually know who Guy Fawkes was or what he did?

The Left encapsulated.

Romney-Ryan have mathematics, the Left has puppets and masks.

The Right has Charles Krauthammer, the Left has Bill Maher.

The Left has emotion, snark and satire. The Right has rationality, discourse and ideas.

I defy anyone to show me where I'm wrong.

King of the 1% should be wearing a crown of poor people bones, don't you think?

Just lazy papier-mache-ing.

Response from the congregation: "By making ourselves look really stupid, no less!"

I still don't get the Fawkes thing. I mean, I know about the silly comic book/movie/whatever... but, wearing a mask depicting a Catholic terrorist?

I'm amazed at how thin the veneer of understanding is with a lot of people who appropriate symbols as their own.

Any cursory investigation into Fawkes would render his use as an analogy moot.

BarryD said...

"wearing a mask depicting a Catholic terrorist?"

Maybe it's a reference to Democratic Rep. Kerry Gauthier?

There's a large "pro-life" truck driving around the convention with pictures of aborted fetuses. Okaaaay then.

Sorun said...

I'm sure the Fawkes thing is just aesthetic. It looks obnoxious, and that's its value.

Methadras said...

Ugh, do leftards have nothing better to do? Like, you know, WORK? Oh yeah, I forgot, they've spent their wads on the puppets, masks, and sloganeering. Gosh, I wonder when the drum circles will begin... Oh wait.

Eye candy for the Democrats. The truck is headed for Charlotte.

Zero.

Well, if there's nothing wrong with abortion, there's nothing wrong with "a large "pro-life" truck driving around the convention with pictures of aborted fetuses."

I mean, just to be clear, if there is no problem, what is the problem?

Self-marginalization for the win?

What amazes me is that these folks think anyone pays attention to them much less are swayed by puppets and banging drums.

Let the freak show begin!

The media of course will fawn all over these noble idealists.

"a large pro-life truck"

Our vehicles steadfastly refuse to take sides on this, and any other controversial issue where neither side acknowledges the concerns of the other, nor has any good answers.

Yes, our Jeep and our Subaru are both openly neutral, and we are proud of them.

but, wearing a mask depicting a Catholic terrorist?

It's worse than that -- the OWSKidz have appropriated a comic-book reinterpretation of a Catholic terrorist.

And they style themselves "the Reality-based Community", bless their hearts!

Not a problem for me, I'm not at this shit show. Abortion porn is all yours, as they say.

Says the party whose only platform is abortion. The women in which party consider abortion their most significant right.

It's not a party until the first BMW is overturned and set alight.

This particular art school graduate just might have some talent. It actually looks like Romney- or Dudly Doright.

I know!
How awesome is that?

And anti-colonialism, don't forget that.

Tim said...

"Not a problem for me, I'm not at this shit show. Abortion porn is all yours, as they say."

Then why do you care to bring it up?

There are lots of things that aren't a problem for me, that I let go by without comment.

Regardless, without your sacrament of abortion, there wouldn't be any such trucks.

But that relationship is too difficult for you to see.

Tim said...

"And anti-colonialism, don't forget that."

Funny.

Meanwhile, under Democrat social welfare policies, whole new and multiplying colonies of multi-generational dependents are established and maintained, in exchange for a vote or three.

Obama's "you didn't build that" certainly applies to the Democrat's neo-colonists, so he and you have got that going for you.

I suspect few of them honestly believe they're persuading anyone. It's all about feeling good about themselves.

Hopefully, some Hells Angels and milita members arrive, too.

Like to see these Occutards get a real taste of the violence they've been dishing out.

'Cept they're lefty pussies. So reading the emergency room reports would be very amusing.

P.S. Not advocating. Just fantasizing.

In St Pete/Tampa Bay eating smoked mullet and smoking cigars are the local specialties. Brats just mean naughty kids.

Michael said...

"And anti-colonialism, don't forget that."

Nah, only about fifty people in the party even know what colonialism means. Abortion is the ticket!! Gotta have it. Most important topic in Charlotte.

Has anyone ever seen Guy Fawkes and Snidely Whiplash together in the same room?

For every Guy Fawkes mask they buy, Warner Bros. makes money.

Way to stick it to big corporations, protesters!

It's also funny that their 99% (photo 11, of the balloons) looks more like qq than it does 99.

But pro slavery.

Jason (the commenter) said...

I live in Tampa and have been photographing the convention. So far I've been gleeful about the small size of the protests. It's not a coincidence we're seeing so many close-up shots of protesters, as long shots would show poorly attended protest rallies. Usually the police outnumber them. And often the photographers seem in danger of doing the same.

Here's a link to what I've seen if anyone is interested.

Vaguely off-topic rant, but related to politics and stupidity:

So, a week and change ago, Mr. Stupid said what was boiled down to (even if oversimplifying), "Rape Doesn't Cause Pregnancies".

He was rightly mocked for that, because, well, it does.

Now I'm seeing the same people who were mocking that on Facebook posting some Huffington Post tripe about how Ryan needs to resign because he called rape a method of conception.

So... the takeaway is what?

Rape both can get you pregnant but doesn't cause conception?

You can't deny it causes pregnancy and MUST deny it causes it?

What the fucking hell is wrong with these people?

(I guess we've always been at war with Oceania. Er, I mean, it's always been offensive to note that rape can cause pregnancy?)

Pretty good.
I wouldn't have included the pundits, since for every Krauthammer there is a Todd Akin moron on the right, and for every insufferably smug and stupid Maher there is a Joseph Stiglitz.

In some ways the Left ought to welcome Romney. They are paying a fortune storing all their cute little fake soldier cemetery headstones, the Free The Gitmo Innocents!! and Speak Truth to Power photo op props while their Black Messiah is in office.

Wow, pathetic in the utter display of apathy as a function of how scatteringly thin they are in numbers. It's a sad day when a leftard can't even get some notice.

In the middle of the most economically perilous and globally dangerous moment in American history the Democrats election tactics focused on vaginas and income tax returns.
