This is so inane and stupid that I can think only that there is nothing left for Obama.

Binders? Ryan's dishes?

Hillary is a sad, sad woman. She has nobody in her life. BJ? He's not spending any time with her. By the way, who is Bill spending time with?

If she gives up the Sec. of State at the end of Zero's first, and last term, what will she do then? Bake cookies? Once the excitement of dodging sniper bullets wears off, life is pretty boring after that.

The only option that she has to cash in on her popularity, is something that she's done well at before, cattle futures.

The whole "binders" shtick mystifies me. Romney is the guy who always does the right thing and gets vilified for it.

This is good news for Jacob Weisberg, because it proves that there's still a lucrative market for Republican malapropisms. Romney may not be able to supply a page-a-day calendar for him like W. did, but he'll still have the chance to market coffee mugs and whatnot.

Someone needs to start compiling the "Binders of Obama's Failures."

It probably doubles the length of Romeny's binders of resumes from women, which would make it really, really impressive.

Can't believe you didn't use the Clinton one.

If people are just saying stupid inane things, can I mention how hot Paul Ryan looked in one of his facebook pictures yesterday?

Admittedly, the comment "binders full of women" sounds odd.. But what's worse...the binders comment or throwing Hil under the bus? If you're a woman the former is much more egregious.

I keep thinking it's already an amusing German word, but I'm probably confusing it with bustenhalter, bra.

Attempts to google it out wind up various places like women's wheelchair basketball.

How would you like to be holding s sizeable investment of 2008 Barack Obama Commemorative Coins and Plate Collections?

What do you think that investment is worth now? I don't see the same enthusiasm this time around. What happened?

This election is over Althouse - Obama is toast. It is time for some new blog topics. How about - what will the Dems do to regain the majority? What will Obama do after losing? Will Michelle have a fit? Will they return to Chicago or Hawaii?

I was surprised by all of the talk of binders. Of all the debate moments that I thought were worth talking about, this one never occurred to me.

It wasn't the best way to phrase it but it wasn't confusing either. Can anyone explain to me what the problem with it is?

I'm lost on this as well. Maybe they are trying to get away from Romeny's actual answer to the question, which is that he made an effort, hired lots of women, and was flexible with their schedules. And that a good economy is good for women's pay, as well as mens.

As opposed to Obama's answer which was 'my grandma was a VP at a bank, also free birth control for everyone!'

Obama seems to be trying to attract stupid voters. That's the way to victory for him.

"You're a stupid woman; vote for me!"

"You're a stupid black/latino/whatever (but not an Asian or a Jew); vote for me!"

"You're an idiot; get on the bus anyway; we'll take you there!"

My dad had binders full of women. I loved those. I think they all went quick at a yard sale one year just after the divorce.

Mmmm, toast.

Flicker is a bit strange. They're more group-oriented than suits me. I put things there for backup in bulk when I get around to it. Then comments to them spring up. It took me awhile to see that happening, some people were asking me questions directly, like, will you allow this photo to be added to our group? Group of three.

Flicker group of three.

The photo showed breakfast that included a stack of three pieces of toast.

And there's alway stuff like that. Weird groups, and weird pics they choose as favorites.

The Obamabots think this kinda talk is repelling women?

(Hint: they talk about it, because they secretly like it. Obama going to Candy for protection: not so attractive... Hth.)

Kind of stupid of the Obamites and their liberal and jewish progressive minions in the media.

Lets go around and joke to women that Romney will go into office with binders full of women he will look to hire!!

Hahaha!
Stupid Republican wants to hire lots of you, but he can't say it right!!
Get it?

If she gives up the Sec. of State...what will she do then?

I doubt living at the level she's become accustomed to will satisfy Hillary. Much more than her husband, even more than Barry, Hillary is a political radical whose whole identity is tied up in her faith, and it is a faith. I wouldn't be surprised if she ends her life in dank basements rallying true believers. And happy to be there.

I heard about the first half hour on the radio driving home. Much better to hear than to TRY to hear AND watch the distractions. It seems to focus.

I heard the “...women in binders...” quote and I did not even catch it. I thought it seemed rather efficient way to present a stack of resumes in an orderly fashion and allow the interesting ones to be flagged.

I heard the “...$1.86...” quote and nearly had an aneurysm on the toll road uphill. Then I wondered/believed “does he really THINK that?”

No wonder the transcripts are wherever the heck they are.

This is going to be just as successful as the Big Bird campaign.

Binders? This must override the fact that Obama reputedly pays women on his staff 18% less than he pays men.

More silliness from Obamadupes.

Patrick said...

Are they mocking Romney as being outdated with a picture of Hilary using a Blackberry? Weren't those a thing, back in 2004?

Most mock-able thing of the night and they fuck it up. Typical.

Ok..I at least understood the Big Bird reference, it was dumb as hell but I got it...this thing on binders is beyond stupid, like 2nd grade stupid. You know when everybody twisted the unpopular kid's name into something perceived to be an insult...that kind of stupid.

God help us if this short bus of special ed idiots are unleashed on us for another 4 years.

I still use binders at work, but I also use "folders" in Outlook.

My binders are all different colors with the labels alternating between far left, far right and center.

Each binder has an impeccably written "title" in black ink-from my pen that has a long white ostrich feather on it.

I don't have a women or men binder-that would be sexist.

tits.

First debate/ Big Bird
Second debate/ Binders
Third debate/ Benghazi?

Anyone else see a pattern here?
As they'd say on Sesame Street, "It's the letter B!"

Bill said...

I don't begrudge the other side the option of goofing on their opponent, Lord knows the right can do it too, and I guess it's a silly sounding thing to say, but...

I just do not get it. I mean I don't get why it's supposed to be so self-evidently damaging to Romney, especially considering that the closer you look at the issue the better Romney looks and the worse Obama looks.

The Right is banging the drum on Obamacare, Fast & Furious, the Benghazi debacle, the war on energy, the war on business, the war on freedom of religion, the imploding economy...

And the Left gets fired up about Big Bird and LadyParts and washing clean pots and dogs on cars. It's stuff like this that makes me think it might really be a blowout.

Heh. The original profession, I guess.

OK, seriously in all the talk about birth control, is Obama not at all concerned about STD's? You know, preventing babies is great and all, but maybe preventing AIDS and crazy mutant gonorrea might be important too.

Mary Beth said...

This says that he's "being criticized for the idea that achieving parity in political appointments requires effort."

MayBee said...

At least with Seamus and Big Bird, I believe there are some people who honestly are upset by those things.

But binders? I just don't believe the honesty of people trying to be upset about it.
At least on facebook, it's just the usual suspects hyping it. The same people who thought Biden was great and Big Bird is great because he's not for profit.

MayBee said...

The weird thing is, many of my friends on FB who are all anti-Binder comment, all "A woman should be ashamed to vote for Romney/Ryan!", all "Gee, thanks Mitt Romney for wanting to make sure women can get home from work in time to make dinner!" are stay at home moms. One was, until she got a job in real estate so- get this- she could be home for dinner with her kids.

It's so weird.

pdug said...

I guess the "funny" is in the following observations

1. There is a sexual double entedre to BDSM and porn mag collections, so we can pretend Romney's a hypocrite in his straight mormon demeanor

2. The idea that Romeny's a hypocrite, and does the right thing anyway in hiring women, but because he doesn't realize his "male privilege" and support all feminisms, he's suspect.

(I've heard this with Bush, where his actual concern for the material conditions of women in afghanistan was alleged to be muted by his warmongering and ethnocentrism.)

3. Its an excuse to take something fine Romney said and accuse him of badness ("keeping women IN binders" is what he's REALLY about: don't be fooled, and I have a silly pic to prove it). Which is nonsense, but soothes a troubled leftists heart.

pdug said...

I also think Romney exemplifies American ambivalence about affirmative action: we're fine with it if an executive does something ad-hoc because of an imbalance that was noticed. Its not fine when its a set program run by an ongoing institution or government.

David said...

Sorry.

Binders full of women is pretty funny.

In fairness, I don't think HRC actually said what is on the image. She isn't that dumb.
