"Jeremy Epstein, First Questioner in Debate, Says He's No Longer Undecided."

Surprise, surprise! He's for Obama.

Any guesses on how long he's been volunteering for Obama?

Michael said...

Was he the one who asked: "president Obama, can you tell me the ways you differ from Jimmy Carter?"

Another supposedly undecided and totally neutral questioner from last night's debate was a former Code Pink manager. Probably undecided as in can't decide between Obama and Jill Stein.
Decisions, decisions, decisions.

OK, my mind is made up. I am voting for Romney. That should get me my own Althouse Post in less than 500 years.

I didn't see that he admitted that. He did say he was leaning towards Obama before the debate. But since the "undecideds" came from Democrat-infested New York, I knew the fix was in and don't doubt 80% of those folks will end up voting for Zero.

Hey, Crowley, this bud's for you!

This is no new phenomenon. The "gay general" four years ago was an obvious plant. The game is fixed but it's the only game in town. Romney might try to force changes on the Debate Commission in 2016. The Democrats, with a GOP incumbent, might be reluctant to blow up the whole debate process.

Oh, damn, another "jobs" question.

How long before the usual suspects show up and slam Bagoh2o, and capitalist others here, for actually hiring people, running businesses, and risking their own money in ventures?

Hey, Crowley ...

Pssst: Leave Candy alone, she's busy with her Transcendental Meditation, adopted when she gave up Christian Science and left Principia College.
How one of my favorites here, Crack Emcee, missed that one is beyond me.

Yeah, right.

Ann, I think you might be misreading this one. I watched the vid of his interview. He said he felt like Romney looked right into his soul when he asked him his question. He went on to try to be fairhanded to both of them. He didn't want to say who he chose. Why? The same reason we can't put up Romney signs where we live. Never ending hatemail, cars getting keyed, signs torn down and twitter threats.

That whole audience was for Obama and so was Candy.

In fact the questions seemed to come from the WH. Despite all that Romney still did well.

Dear Mr. Kotter,
Please, excuse Jeremy from class on November 6, so that he can cast his ballot for President Obama at the polling station on that day.

Signed,

He's a Jewish kid from Long Island. Nobody in the family has voted for a Republican since they came from the old country (whichever old country).

They will continue to vote for anti-Semitic progressives until Israel is bombed out of existence by Iran and the Democrats schedule a pogrom.

Gallup had a problem coming up with unbiased undecideds. Indeed, CNN admitted that almost all of the audience had voted for Obama in 2008. Link.

CodePink plant update, too.

I have some sympathy for them. I imagine that most undecideds are former Obama voters who can't bring themselves yet to admit they aren't buying again.

My assumption is the same it has been for months -- anyone who claims to be undecided is either lying or has no plans to vote.

Honestly, how could anyone possibly lack enough information to make a decision? Nothing new was said last night; nothing new has been said for weeks.

MadisonMan said...

Where does it say in the article that he's for Obama? He does cotton to saying he was leaning that way before the debate, but post-debate all he says that he's made his mind up, but he doesn't reveal his vote. Does he?

Astro said...

Wait, what???
Where did he say he way voting for Obama?
All he said was that before the debate he was leaning toward Obama. Maybe the debate changed his mind.

Oy! He just embarrassed the family!

Patrick said...

FWIW, he tweeted to the President, and asked for a follow. He did not do the same for Romney.

He comes off reasonably well in the interview (I read, did not view). "Sound eloquent, don't sound nervous, don't embarrass the family."

I like that in a young man. The voting will come later.

Robert Zaleski said...

You just need to look at Mr. Obama the entire time you ask a question to Mr. Romney.

campy said...

It doesn't matter who he votes for. When the counting starts, his vote will be placed in the Obama column.

What could be a better audience for Romney: one full of his fans, or one full of democrats, some of whom may actually be persuaded to change their vote?

There is no better audience than a potentially susceptible one.

Yeah, that answer was weird.

"I want a good job when I get out of college."
"That's why I'm gonna bring manufacturing back."

Something that didn't happen ten years ago:
"Make sure and go to college, kid. Then someday you can be just like your old man, workin' on the line at the plant."

We're going to hear from this guy in a few years. His life won't be going so well - trouble finding good work, inflation is out of control thanks to all the Fed money printing, long waits to see a doctor if you get sick. And he'll tell us he was wrong to support Obama.

well there are a lot of shovel ready green manufacturing jobs in excercise science. So, this kid will do fine.

Ann misread this at the end of the article:

'Epstein, who is studying exercise science, declined to reveal which candidate will be getting his vote.

But he told NBC 4 New York that before the debate, he was "swaying a little bit, I guess, towards the incumbent."'

He was leaning towards Obama before the debate. Declines to answer after the debate. We know what that means.

C'mon Revenant; didn't Obama's explanation of $4 gas break new ground for presidential imbecility?

My assumption is the same it has been for months -- anyone who claims to be undecided is either lying or has no plans to vote.

Or people who are dumber than rocks - such as the receptionist at my office who whined yesterday that Romney "thinks people making $250,000 a year are middle class. How am I ever going to make that much money? I wish I didn't even have to vote at all."

IOW, the perfect Obama voter.

Freeman Hunt said...

Heh. That was another funny one.

"Why is gas so high now? Because it was so low before. It was so low because we were about to have a recession."

President comes up with new theories in economics on the fly.

So Epstein asked Romney how he's going to guarantee that there will be a job for him, and he asked Obama how the Bulls are going to do?

I think his fears about his employment prospects are misplaced. Every mainstream media outlet in America is probably in a bidding war for his services this very minute.

So, how do we know he will vote Obama? Before the debate he was swaying towards the incumbent, but refuses to say where his vote is going now.

Weird response by the President on so many levels.

First, Obama hasn't a clue what "Exercise Science" entails or what jobs it can lead to...e.g., certified physical therapist, certified physical trainer, then physical therapist assistants, and other related positions of lessor ranking...certification is bestowed by a board of examiners, subsequent to a PT course of instruction beyond college, not by college degree, although a degree, up to PhD, is certainly helpful to serious candidates for such positions in sports or hospital or equivalent settings.

Perhaps Cybex International might hire PT's, but how many exercise machine firms are there, really? "Thighmaster" and Mz Sommers hardly qualify. :-)

Few other manufacturing plants, if any, hire a certified physical therapist or trainer directly, although I do know of some who run contracted PT programs for some employees. Some federal government agencies do the same. Examples, here, run from Ford Motor Company to the IRS and FBI. One exception may be the United State Army Tank Automotive Command (TACOM)'s facilities. Open about 12/7 it would make some sense if their PT's were FTE's ... but it's not like the Army and USMC haven't got ample campaign hatted DI's who are quite good at it.

Next...given that I've been in government or military positions most of my career, with a decade+ of private sector time, let me say simply, that I've never ever seen government **create** manufacturing jobs. None. Ever.

If government per se relied on government/military "creativity" alone the Cavalry would still be riding fine horse flesh, not helicopters or tanks. Very few George Pattons or Billy Mitchells make it for long in government/military circles.

Yes, there ARE some creative people in government, but they seldom (IMO never) succeed without partnership with private sector enterprise. Don't think so? Look no further than the infamous "Area 51" at Groom Lake.

Some taxpayer money has been spent, wisely at times, but more likely unwisely (Solyndra, A-123, et al) ...because money isn't all of what it takes to create industry & create jobs: innovation, entrepreneurship, creativity, results oriented research, design efficiency, fiscal soundness, etc...let Bagoh20 fill in the rest...and there IS much more.

Just like the military, without grunts there's be no Pentagon staffs...so it is with job creativity....without the grunts in endeavor, there's be no Wall Street and damn sure no double redundant, off budget (if we had one) Liz Weaver designed CFPB.

Basically, to mirror what PatCA said: we really had two sophomores on that stage....Epstein and Obama.

Anonymous said...

So from where do you get that he's voting for Obama?

Romney answered his question. Obama said he could beat Jeremy in a game of 1-1. What in the world would make him support Obama?
