"Eight staffers at Cory Booker's tech start-up have started looking for new jobs as the company is expected to shutter."

"The video aggregation company is said to be losing cash quickly and it is supposedly being kept alive through early November so that it's closure doesn't hurt Booker's chances at winning the New Jersey Senate race."

(We were talking about Booker and his company Waywire yesterday, here.)

Key question: who's keeping it alive with cash through the election?

How convenient, it is around when he needs to appear to produce something, and when the need goes away, it goes away.

The important thing is that Booker can keep the money he extracted from it.

Whoever keeps it alive will be rewarded with ample taxpayers' cash after Nov. Calls it earmark, return of investment, bribery, corruption. A Democrat, especially a black Democrat, could do no wrong.

Shows politicians couldn't do squat of anything except to confiscate and send our money to their cronies.

We don't need grandstanders like Cory Booker. We need people who can get work done.

American taxpayers most likely.

On a related Garden State point, I'm mystified by all the Chris Christie worship given that New Jersey has one of the country's highest unemployment rates when it should have one of the lowest. New Jersey avoided the worst of the real estate bubble and crash, has a workforce that's more highly educated and skilled than in most states, and is the nation's - perhaps the world's - center of the pharmaceutical industry, a rapidly growing and technologically advanced industry full of high-paying jobs.

There are no self-pump gas stations in New Jersey, it's the law. They have someone fill your tank.

A business failure Perfect for the Senate. Possible election games are just expected. He's black so cut out the racism.

So it's not a bribe but a plot to destroy Booker? That will be the Daily Kos line.

Has Booker been paid anything? Just what did the creative core of this disaster do?

Not that I question his judgment or anything, but wow this is stupid.

The sad thing is no one is shocked by this. They don't even bother to pretend. There was a time such transparent phoniness would have been embarrassing. Not any more.
