When you use a Taser to steal a Stradivarius, it's the confetti that will get you arrested.

That's what Salah Salahady and Universal Knowledge Allah found out.
After the robbery, a customer at Allah's barbershop on N. King Drive [in Milwaukee] heard him and other customers talking on Feb. 1 about the violin robbery. The tipster said that after his haircut Allah asked him for a ride home. During the ride, Allah mentioned that Salahadyn had "used the electric, not the heat," referring to using the Taser during the robbery.

The next day, that person shared he information with a police officer he knew. Investigators, with the help of the FBI, had already traced the sale of the Taser to Allah through tiny, unique bits of confetti emitted by the weapon....

And just what were these idiots going to do with the violin?

Now they get to trade it in for a long stretch of free room and board.

While it's pretty clear from the taser confetti trace that these two aren't the brightest bulbs on the "Winter Holiday" Tree, how did they think they were going to fence the violin?

The only way that could get any real money for the violin would be to sell it to a private collector (probably overseas) who would hide it in a collection for a while. Like these schlubs hang with those kinds of people.... There are so few of these instruments & they are so well cataloged, that they are instantly recognizable by folks whose job it is to sell or buy high-end stringed instruments. They really can't be hidden for very long.

Also, NPR's story on this theft has someone playing the Prelude from the E major unaccompanied Partita supposedly on this violin. Both the performance & the sound of the violin are well-nigh hideous. I think NPR is pulling a fast one and it's not the violin or the Milwaukee Symphony 1st violinist playing the Partita. Lord, I hope that's the case....

Oh my God!

Why are they shooting poor Naked Sleepwalking Guy with a Taser in that video?

No wonder why he's walking around disoriented.

Leave Naked Sleepwalking Guy Alone!

Local Milwaukee chat puts Universal Knowledge Allah as friend/business partner of Supreme Solar Allah. Supreme Solar Allah is the son of Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D). He is the guy who committed voter suppression by slashing the tires on vans that the Republicans had rented to take elderly citizens to the polls on Election Day 2004.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett gets a haircut from Universal Knowledge Allah

Barrett appears quite pleased with the results.

A few years back I told the story of sitting in a Kenosha barber shop and listening to people talk about voter fraud in the 2008 elections. Some of the barbers live in Illinois but used the business address in Kenosha to do same day voter registration in Wisconsin and voted for Obama in both IL and WI.

Garage Mahal doubted my story and stated that voter fraud doesn't occur in Wisconsin. But apparently Tom Barrett is quite aware that if you want to know what's going on in the black community you just have to visit a barber shop.

My BS detector tingled when I first heard about this theft. Surely anyone with the wherewithal to ambush a violinist for his Strad would know that it would be nearly impossible to unload.

The point isn't the violin. The point is insurance fraud.

Exactly. You don't do something like this unless you already have a buyer. A buyer than you can then turn over to the popo for the insurance money.

The guy getting tasered looks a lot like the statue guy at Wellesley.

It would explain some things.
