The terrace is open....

... get out there.

You can tell them that lady who always gets the mocha macchiato told you to get the mocha macchiato. I'm talking about Babcock ice cream on the Union Terrace, which has finally reopened after some nice resurfacings of a place that still looks like the place you know and love.

Can Althouse taste that, or is it the texture and temperature and, maybe, odor?

Better yet hop on I94, head east, and have a night out at Company Brewing in Milwaukee's Riverwest. They are celebrating one year in business. Great beer and food.

My taste is terribly diminished, but I can enjoy the coldness, the creaminess, and the texture variation that you get from the melty chocolate chips. I get some of the sweetness and the saltiness. The coffee flavor is almost entirely missing for me. If there were a vanilla chocolate chip flavor available, it would probably seem similar and might actually be better.

I don't think they ever have vanilla chocolate chip. It's always vanilla with crushed up Oreos or vanilla with more complicated additions.

It's surely not "odor"! The reason I can't "taste" is that I can't smell.

Tank is spoiled. He grew up five blocks from this place.

Super rich creamy ice cream. Homemade chocolate too. The joke in (our one third Jewish) town was that they had a bunch of Jews chained up in the basement churning out this stuff. The place was owned by Germans. I guess you couldn't joke about that any more.

Mocha Macchiato, a famous "Moustache Pete" from the old country. No worries, he just wants to wet his beak.

Strangely it looks the same. Must be the chairs.

Yes, the main noticeable differences are the strung-up lights and the stone paving, which has many donors nanes inscribed, including many that refer to the place as where a couple fell in love.

I have been wondering why frozen yogurt went away in the wake of "Coldstone Creamery," "Marble Slab" and the like... and now is back. In Knoxville and Ohio, at least. Frozen Yogurt is almost universally repulsive.

So that's how you voted for Cruz!

I'm hoping for a cold this November. Make it easier to vote!

That's sad.
