Google/image "Deborah Butterfield"

I don't see my favorites but it will do. (Scrap Iron 1981, which ought not to be strikingly a horse but nevertheless is ; or Jerusalem I, 1980. In _Deborah Butterfield San Diego Museum of Art_ 1996)

Thanks, RH. I should check for a name plate over there next time. I do have this picture I took of the Deborah Butterfield horse sculpture at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art.

This great little urban space needs plastic plants in the pots and a simulated water fountain on a flatscreen to be all it can be.

Why not just tear up the concrete and pant grass?

Then you'd need a mower. Better to go with 21 C virtual which I'm liking more and more these days.

My futuristic dreams have wild, contrived landscapes as backdrop to man. And, why not, if he can dominate and make it so?

That deer needs a sandwich.

As you can read about here, this park has only existed for about two months. At the beginning of the year it was a parking lot.

According to Streetsblog (which itself is passing along information from NYCDOT), the green paint will at some point be dug up to expose the "original belgian block street surface."

Peter,

I'm glad you pointed that out. If the media keeps presenting these unrealistic views of deer, we'll never be able to stem the tide of young does starving themselves.

Walkin' around this concrete garden
Viewing all in vain
Thinking why a dream is driving everyone insane

Then something will come and make you feel
The master in control
Still you're pickin' up and screwing anyone
Who's gotta soul

I've been here far too long to remember
Sights and sounds from this town of clowns

Makin' up, dressin' up and walkin' around
Thinkin' that you're Greta Garbos
I'm sorry my dears but we only sat down
And laughed and laughed in sorrow
But it was you that opened the door, and
It's that we thank you for

Walkin' around this concrete garden
Viewing all in vain
Thinking why a dream is driving everyone insane
Everyone insane
Everyone insane
Everyone's insane(Box/Kerslake/Thain)

You try to plant somethin in the concrete, y'knowhatImean?
If it GROW, and the rose petal got all kind of scratches and marks, you not gon' say, "Damn, look at
all the scratches and marks on the rose that grew from concrete"
You gon' be like, "Damn! A rose grew from the concrete?!"

Same thing with me, y'knahmean? I grew out of all of this
Instead of sayin, "Damn, he did this, he did this,"
just be like, "DAMN! He grew out of that? He came out of that?"
That's what they should say, y'knowhatImean?

All the trouble to survive and make good out of the dirty, nasty
y'knowhahatImean unbelievable lifestyle they gave me
I'm just tryin to make somethin..

When no one even cared
The rose it grew from concrete
Keepin all these dreams
Provin nature's laws wrong
It learned how to walk without havin feet
It came from concrete
