Time-lapse photography never ceases to amaze me. I remember seeing movies in biology class that used that technique to illustrate natural selection in moths. The moths, on a tree, "evolved" from black to white or vice versa to avoid bird predators. What really took considerable time was depicted in a minute or two. A super useful educational tool it really is, and fun to watch besides.

Ah, the controversial Peppered Moth...

The textbook photos were indeed staged, but the little critters do change, er, evolve due to pollution, according to a 2001-07 study.

I don't feel so bad about the snow. It will melt and come back.

You can do it with humans, too.

But it's better with cartoon characters..
