The neo-Nazi skinhead plot to assassinate Obama (and shoot/decapitate 88 black people).

Disrupted.
[T]he legal documents show, [Daniel] Cowart and [Paul] Schlesselman "planned to drive their vehicle as fast as they could toward Obama shooting at him from the windows."

"Both individuals stated they would dress in all white tuxedos and wear top hats during the assassination attempt," the court complaint states. "Both individuals further stated they knew they would and were willing to die during this attempt."

Off with their heads.

A goofy idea like that should only have the word "plot" used to describe it if the words "... of a really bad action move" immediately follow.

Can you get a Top Hat to fit a lunkhead?

I wonder why 88 is significant in skinhead lore. Piano keys?

Clowns to the left and idiots on the right. Seriously, there should be an IQ test for just being allowed to walk around.

LOL at the fashion tag. White tuxedos and top hats. Funny if it wasn't so ludicrous. I guess the skinhead Nazi movement has a good dry cleaner.

Rev.,

The problem is that a lot of these things sound far fetched because they're disrupted.

9/11 still sounds like an outlandish idea to me: bunch of guys with box cutters who took flying lessons high-jack a plane to crach them into buildings.

I strongly disagree with Obama on the issues, but it would be absolutely tragic if something happened to him and, as history shows, when something tragic happens it's because of crackpots like these morons.

At least they weren't planning on wearing white after Labor Day.

It stands for "HH", which in turn stands for "Heil Hitler". H is the 8th letter of the alphabet.

Helena-West Helena, on the Mississippi River in east Arkansas' Delta, is in one of the nation's poorest regions, trailing even parts of Appalachia in its standard of living.

No kidding. You should see that place.

I love their idea for clothing. That's the hilarious cherry on top of the crazy-town sundae.

I'm sure Obama is quaking in his boots with masterminds such as these plotting his demise.

Thanks for sparing me the agony of looking that up rev :)

I still say Piano Keys and 88-finger Louie from the Flintstones.

What was outlandish about 9/11 was the idea that anyone would be insane enough to WANT to carry out such attacks. It isn't outlandish at all that people would want to assassinate a Presidential candidate. The manner in which the attacks themselves were carried out made perfect sense -- it was coldly rational and designed to take advantage of airline security flaws, e.g. the well-known fact that airline crews were told to give in to hijackers. It was difficult to see how the attack could fail.

This plan was exactly the opposite of that. The goal -- political assassination -- is entirely run-of-the-mill. We expect that sort of thing, and have a Secret Service specifically to prevent it. The *plan*, on the other hand, was utterly retarded and would never have worked.

The King Biscuit Blues Festival is in Helena. I've been. I would not return. I see they've renamed it something boring.

It's probably lucky that these two had delusions of grandeur. Had they only planned on the mass murder at the school, they might not have been caught. That would have been horrific.

Host with the Most said...

Add this to the dozens of attacks in America prevented by American law enforcement because of the detemination of one George W Bush to keep Americans safe. And after 9/11, no one - NO ONE - predicted or believed in an America free for the next 7 years from terrorist attacks.

Hate him or love him, History will put a big "Excellent" next to the keeping America safe column for George W Bush.

From my family and I, thank you President Bush.

Though I would point out that there's no way they'd take out as many people as they were planning. In Helena, they wouldn't be the only people in the school with guns.

Sounds like performance art to me.

Yes, I think they are dangerous idiots, but still, you've got to admit, the pattern is performance art.

Jim Howard said...

Host with the most, you are exactly correct.

Bush has done a excellent job of keeping assassins and terrorists on the defensive.

A round-the-clock curfew was recently imposed on parts of Helena. Nice town.

Oh well, guess we'll have to see how long it takes before their death sentence is confirmed!

Oops, I take that back, no death sentence for simply planning their stupid deed. However, sending them to prison will be a death sentence in fact so maybe we should shoot'em out of hand; much more merciful, eh!

Remember this is the blog of The Hammurabi of Legwear.

If you are going to skinhead it up do it properly

There are some Neo-Nazi/Nazi assassination styles that are simply unacceptable.

As I've said before, in watching for the genuine threat to assassinate Obama the skinhead/KKK types are at best merely media entertainment.

The real threats are current or former US military personnel with combat experience in Iraq or Afghanistan.

They will have no connection to so called "hate groups" unless you consider Blackwater or the US military to be hate groups.

They will use planted explosives or Barrett .50 cals from a distance.

I'm glad our law enforcement stopped these scumbags before it was too late.

I wish back when, they could have stopped Ayers and his wife before they executed their acts of terror.

That's wonderful, Freeman Hunt. Did you just make it up?

The real threats are current or former US military personnel with combat experience in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Yes, professionals could do it, particularly if they didn't plan to survive. But it's less likely they actually would - because they're professionals. Military people take that duty and honor stuff more seriously than most people, and unstable personalities generally don't fit in long enough to acquire those mad sniper skillz.

Ozwald was a marine, but I'm pretty sure he was drafted.

Yes, but I'm on a "crazy-town" kick. I used "crazy-town" in my most recent blog post too. I think I'll peruse the news for more dispatches from "crazy-town."

Hoosier Daddy said...

The one thing in the article that stands out is that they were arrested on 'unspecified charges'. What does that mean exactly? Were these two bozos under some kind of survellience for this plot or were they picked up for something else?

And what the hell is up with white tuxedos and top hats? Yeah, that get up won't stand out and draw attention. Yes, pay no attention to the skinhead in the tux with the 30.06

I'd like to hear a little more about this because it sounds an awful like a couple of chucklefucks who got busted on some unrelated rap and are shooting for their 15 minutes. Because based upon the link, this had about as much chance of happening as well, McCain winning in November.

Marines drafted in WWII and again in the Korean War. However, Oswald wasn't a draftee, his service was after the Korean War. He was a volunteer!

Jeez, doesn't any of this younger bunch know beans about our country and its history! I'm leaving all my money to the Aussies; yeah they're almost Socialists too but with style and verve!

Yhe Marines drafted in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Certainingly they were in 68 and 69. at the reception station they would line the draftees up and a SGT would count them off. 1,2,3 marine :)

Well Zach, actually securing those borders and enforcing our immigration policies is racist. Or so I keep being told by the usual suspects when the subject of illegal immigration that comes up.

I do get confused when you lefties keep moving the goal posts on us.

My BiL was drafted into the Marines. He was a Cuban refugee, and by serving, got fast tracked to citizenship.

And it is Lee Harvey Oswald with an "s". Those of us who remember that awful day remember the details.

I think I can safely predict that if Obama is elected, every other racist skinhead 'chucklefuck' (love that one, will have to steal it on every appropriate occasion) busted clean-to-rights on weapons charges will make up outlandish presidential assassination fantasies in order to play Big Man In Lockup.

I'd be willing to bet that they'll have their own prison gang inside of six months after the inaugural.

Lets see, two young guys from nowhere Arkansas were going to kill 88 black people including 12 by beheading and THEN drive toward Obama -guns blazing- wearing top hats and tails.

Doesn't sound like "Day of the Jackal" does it?

Thank Goodness the USA has been made safe from poor, stupid, Arkansas neo-Nazi's wearing Top hats and Tuxedos.
