The dance craze says Obama will win.

Last time we had a dance craze like Gangnam Style — check out Psy in Times Square — it was 1996:
In the United States, the song, and its corresponding Macarena dance, became popular during the same week as the 1996 Democratic National Convention. The song was frequently played between activities, and large groups of delegates and other attendants would be seen doing the Macarena dance. The song and dance became such a part of the convention that Vice President Al Gore, having a reputation for stiffness, made a joke about doing the Macarena dance during his speech. He asked, "Would you like to see my Macarena dance?" He remained motionless for a few seconds, then asked, "Would you like to see it again?"
I tried to find that Gore thing on YouTube, but I only found this:

When the Macarena was the craze, the President was reelected. He beat Bob Dole, whose tagline was "Where's the outrage?" And the answer was "Heeeeey Macarena AAAhAA!" The Democrats danced their way through the convention, and the old man asking for outrage was so out of step with the times.

And now, if you're wondering why Americans aren't outraged — about the economy, about the murder of the ambassador, about the brownshirts that knock on the filmmaker's door at midnight — what is your problem? And the answer is:
I’m a guy
A guy who seems calm but plays when he plays
A guy who goes completely crazy when the right time comes
A guy who has bulging ideas rather than muscles
That kind of guy
"It's a horse-riding dance," Psy explained... "So there is an invisible horse, and you're on it."

Invisible horse... empty chair... don't you see? Where's the outrage? There's no one there!
I’m a guy
A guy who is as warm as you during the day
A guy who one-shots his coffee before it even cools down
A guy whose heart bursts when night comes
That kind of guy
We love the guy! Obama! The dance craze tells the story. You read polls, tea leaves, whatever. I'm reading the dance craze. The hilarious, silly dance craze says we don't care about our our troubles. Where's the outrage? Heeeey... AAAhAA.. Eeeey... Oppa... eeeh... oh oh oh oh...

Clinton had the "peace and prosperity" thing going for him at the time.

Hence, the new emphasis on the NYT telling us what to believe.

The brain dead ones that voted for the BOob in 2008 will vote for him again in 2012. They don't need a dance or a reason of any kind. Once brain cells are dead they stay dead. I do see where scientists are working at generating neurons from stem cells. Maybe treatments will be available in 2016.

I think a "craze" implies everyone knows about some silly bullshit, like the craze that a movie caused the middle east to explode.

Isn't "dancing" kind of a dog whistle?

I'm personally looking forward to the Ace of Spades victory dance.

That "Gore" dance looks like what that girl did at your State Capitol building, the one that Meade photographed. The one in the black boots...

But it's a horse riding dance! (That says Romney.)

BREAKING NEWS:

Krone (chief-of-staff, Reid), a friend of DCOS of WH (Alyssa M.) has denied that he was the leak to Woodward in his new book about Obama.

Woodward, INCORRECTLY, said that Krone challenged Obama and told him in front of others that he had no PLan B.

Woodward to issue correction in paperback. NYT withdraws its reviews. WashPost to apologize.

Obama is untouchable. Woodward now learns.

Bob Dole was an awful candidate, and would have been a weak president. Too bad we didn't have a better choice that year. McCain was OK in 2000 but getting pretty old by 2008.

Clinton was probably unbeatable in 1996 because nobody wanted to risk the prosperity that the GOP Congress had brought. Irony abounds.

Every-One:

Obama has already won the election.

His Electoral College: 340.

He defeats Romney and the GOP by: close to 10%

House is just one seat advantage for the GOP.

Senate is now totally in the Democrats side.

GOP is totally de-moralized. There is NO ONE in 2016. By then, the PRESS has already decided that GOP will -- MUST -- be divided into fragments.

The Obama Republicans will make Hillary the next POTUS in 2016.

The GOP's next chance will be 2024!

You heard here first. I am the expert in politics. I advise clients from every-where. I know. I am paid to tell you the way it is.

[L]ook, if theres a dance craze, it didn’t get there on its own. Psy didn’t get there on its own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because Psy was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because he danced harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hard dancing people out there. (Applause.)

Balfagor, You're right. I screwed up my Korean-type double negative.

should be:

Never learned to type Hangul.

Besides, answer for yourself! How can you omit Romanov's Requiem from your otherwise acceptable list?

This is a great post. Your point that Obama is like the macarena is both poignant and cogent. On the other hand, it is important to keep in mind that Mitt Romney is WINNING! and Clint Eastwood is AWESOME!

Roosevelt had the 'happy days are here again' theme, even with 10 strait years of depression due to his own policies.

So, who knows, maybe Obama can fool them again.

And like FDR, it will take a war, real war, to get us back on our feet. So maybe he hopes for a world war between the Muslims and Christians, cause with his weak polices he is leading us there.

If he could dance like that I'd vote for him.

But his dancing skill comes from his mom.

He sucks. A tight fearful dancer pretending to be cool.

Too bad we didn't have a better choice that year.

Too bad Colin Powell didn't want to be President. Bob Dole showed what the floor of Republican support was in the mid-90s. To his numbers, add everybody who would have voted for the First Black President. Then figure Powell would have appealed more to the Perot people than the Battle of DC Insiders, so he'd get a couple points there (Perot won 8% of the popular vote). And of course there would be limits to how negative a campaign a Democrat could run against a black moderate Republican.

I think Powell could have won 60-40 or better.

I prefer this victory dance. Makes me smile every time; mainly because it is so annoying.

Obama will probably win due to permanent demographic changes (As the Left says, Demography is Destiny - while the Right was debating "ideas", the Left imported a new country). There is now an Anti-White majority, made up of blacks, browns, Jews, Asians and about 30% of Whites who are Anti-White.

Of course, things won't end there. A party (GOP or otherwise) may try and appeal to more Whites and win that way. The dynamics of politics never just stop. Things are definitely getting more obviously racial. We live in interesting times.
